Bill Metcalf, Professor of Sociology at the University of Brisbane, Australia referred to Damanhur as “one of the most interesting intentional communities in the world today.”

He adds, “Damanhur's economic, social and cultural achievements offer an inspirational model for others developing intentional community.”

Damanhur cooperates with other communities to promote sustainability and harmonious interactions between social groups.

The long-term (30 years) success of this Italian Piedmont community which has a Constitution dedicated to the flowering of individual potential in its members and respectful relationship among all.

Damanhur’s volunteers are making great contributions to local politics, fire-fighting, and Red Cross work.
